Marie Le Texier

founded and leads ConsultantSeas

I founded ConsultantSeas in October 2017, driven by my love for the ocean and the deep conviction that its protection depends on multi-stakeholder collaboration, especially from businesses. An idealist and pragmatist at heart, I want to make ConsultantSeas the demonstration by proof that one can combine living on the coast – (wind)surfing and sailing daily- with an exciting job. Previously, I worked at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), where I initiated and led the Ocean Plastics Working Group. I was able to collaborate with many companies along the plastic value chain and gain valuable expertise on solutions and best practices. As a graduate of Sciences Po Paris in environmental policy and an engineer specialized in water sciences, my initial experience in oceanographic research at the Institute of Research for Development (IRD) allowed me to build the scientific expertise I rely on today.

Diane Vaschalde

develops and coordinates ConsultantSeas missions.

I joined ConsultantSeas in January 2021. I am convinced collective efforts are necessary to reduce plastic use and impact, and  also because I love working with Marie and our team from our Brest’s office! Previously, I worked for six years at the heart of the implementation of public policies for the protection of the marine environment, within the French Agency for Biodiversity. As a graduate of Sciences Po Paris, I have also been trained in group and network facilitation. I value creating favourable conditions for mobilising collective intelligence a lot. It is essential to prevent and reduce plastic pollution in the sea.

Elodie Solal

supports the missions of ConsultantSeas

I joined ConsultantSeas in January 2021 for my end of study internship at Sciences Po Paris in management and sustainability. Convinced of the need to protect the ocean, our Earth’s lung, I found at ConsultantSeas plenty to fuel my desire to have an impact in this field !

Having completed a double degree in Social Sciences & Science (Physics), I am also convinced of the need for a dialogue between science and businesses, a dialogue that I help realize in our different missions.

Fascinated by the sea since I was young, I discovered the joy of living closer to it during my year abroad in Copenhagen and I am happy to find this privileged environment here in Brest. Every day I appreciate how lucky I am to have the opportunity to work with a wonderful team in a stimulating environment where I am constantly learning.

Clara Jam supports ConsultantSeas’ management missions

I was looking for an internship that would allow me to contribute positively to social issues. I joined ConsultantSeas in February 2022 to complete my SSE master’s degree. Convinced that changes must be made upstream by companies, I chose to study business at Essca, which is now of great help in accompanying Marie in her missions. As a Breton and a water sports enthusiast, I wish to take action on marine pollution by participating to the development of the firm with the necessary expertise to act. But ConsultantSeas is first and foremost a human adventure built on the values of mutual aid in which I am proud to participate. Getting up every morning has never been so easy!

Tatiana Fedotova provides strategic support to ConsultantSeas

I have been involved in international cooperation, water and sustainability at the intersection of the public and private sectors for 15 years. I joined ConsultantSeas because I share its values, believe deeply in its mission and in the positive impact of its actions. They advocate for more knowledge, awareness and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Which innovation should be implemented to limit marine plastic pollution? A fundamental transformation of our economic system towards a fair and circular economy and a shift in our consumption patterns consistent with the respect of the planet and nature on which our lives depend. I am a swimmer and lover of wide-open spaces, and water – both fresh and salt – is part of my natural environment, essential to my balance.

David Le Louarn coordinates and contributes to ConsultantSeas’ missions.

I am a multi-entrepreneur in the field of innovation and consulting since graduating from HEC Paris in 2015. I joined ConsultantSeas because I have the deep desire to put my professional skills at the service of a positive cause for society and the planet. Environmental protection is a subject that particularly motivates me as I am a nature lover. The most efficient ways to limit marine plastic pollution is to create new consumer experiences (packaging), to spread new uses that make consumers more responsible and to look for alternatives to plastic. Originally from Brittany, I live near the ocean and the proximity of the sea allows me to relax and find balance.

Pascal Alphonse contributes to ConsultantSeas’ strategy

I joined ConsultantSeas in December 2021 to support the strategic thinking on the growth of the firm, its team and impact projects. I am happy to envision the consultancy of tomorrow with a team of passionate people working for the ocean. I have a rather unusual background, first the ESSEC, then the French Navy, a degree in biology in between, and soon a sailing expedition to California. My “blue” thread is the environment and more particularly my desire to help the ocean, as I want to retrain in marine conservation, by joining the Scripps Master’s in marine biology. From a very young age, the sea became part of my universe. Two years ago, in order to finally feel like a “real sailor”, head into the wind, I decided to go and live directly on my sailing boat in Brest.

Maïwenn Bégoc contributes to ConsultantSeas’ missions

I arrived at ConsultantSeas in March 2022 for my end-of-study internship. I am completing a double degree in biology and health engineering, and a master’s degree in business management. I have the opportunity to bring an engineering perspective to this motivated and motivating team, which shares my environmental concerns, my passion for the ocean and water sports, as well as the desire to act at the source to fight against plastic pollution.

As a native of Finistère, I am also delighted to be reconnecting with my roots and rediscovering Brest, a pioneering city in the field of maritime preservation!

Sarah Batellier contributes to ConsultantSeas’ missions

I have a double master’s degree in environmental science and policy from the Sorbonne and Sciences Po. I want to link scientific expertise with the application of concrete solutions. So I joined ConsultantSeas in March 2022 for 6 months, in order to support the private sector in the ecological transition. Through the dynamic and benevolent atmosphere of the consultancy, I learn to federate different actors and to lead projects to reduce plastic pollution. Back in my native Brittany, I am looking forward to continue working on the pilot project towards a zero plastic hotel and the upcoming high impact missions !

They worked with us

I joined ConsultantSeas in September 2021 for 8 months. Soon to graduate with a double master’s degree in environmental science and policy, I am convinced that a scientific understanding of the environmental challenges we face can catalyse action at the societal level.

Aware that important levers for action lie with companies, I joined ConsultantSeas in order to engage them in the pressing need for ecological transition.

Within the firm, I am more particularly involved in leading a network of companies and in setting up pilot projects aimed at preventing plastic pollution.

I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy at Sciences Po and I joined ConsultantSeas in September 2021 for a period of 6 months. The consultancy allowed me to combine my passion for the ocean and its protection and my curiosity about the role of the private sector in the implementation of the ecological transition.

I was delighted to accompany Marie in her work and to have contributed to a range of missions and projects to reduce plastic pollution. I was happy to be part of a dynamic and committed team whilst enjoying the Brest living environment!

With a Master’s degree in International Environmental Law, and soon a Master’s degree in International Public Management from Sciences Po Paris, I joined the dynamic ConsultantSeas team in June 2020. I am delighted to be able to contribute to ambitious and stimulating projects for our planet through a multi-actor and collaborative dialogue.

ConsultantSeas’ missions allow us to establish new practices for tomorrow: a more circular economy, a more sustainable production, a more reasoned consumption. Passionate about diving, sailing and surfing, I am keen to participate in the preservation of our marine ecosystems against plastic pollution alongside public and private actors, within a highly motivated team.

Soon to graduate with a master’s degree in Environmental Policy at Sciences Po Paris, I joined the team in June 2020 for 9 months. I had the pleasure to work on a variety of tasks in projects with concrete impact. Plastic pollution is one of the biggest scourges of our time and working at ConsultantSeas allowed me to contribute at my level. Multi-stakeholder collaboration along the entire plastic value chain, eco-design, new usage patterns and, above all, reduction at source are for me the pillars of this fight. Passionate about Breton culture since my childhood, I enjoyed living in Brest and discovering the landscapes of Finistère for a few months. This exceptional living environment, and the enthusiastic and complementary team of ConsultantSeas, made my experience all the more enriching.
